The Museum is located at Ayia Marina Village on Zakynthos island, in a beautiful, traditional building. The Museum's collections include specimens from the flora and fauna of the Zakynthian nature. Observe the collections of:
Where is located?Dafni Beach is located at the South West of the island, at Vasilikos Area.
A description?Dafni beach is a really beautifull, long and wide sandy beach, with a splendid view in the gulf of Laganas. Just across the beach, stands the small islet Pelouzo (at the left in this photo). In the photo Marathonisi Island and Marathias Cape is also shown ( at the right).
How do I get there? From Alex Studios, Laganas, you have to drive 50 min aprox via Zakynthos town and then following the Vasilikos Street (there are two ways to choose to turn right, its better to take the 2nd, just look for the signs DAFNI, MELA beach). The access in the beach of Dafni from Vasilikos street is considered quiet difficult because you will have to drive 3 kilometres earth-road in order to access the beach.
Any suggestions?Well, get there and spend as much time as you can! The beach is amazing (clear blue-green crystal water and sandy beach). Have your coffee or drinks at Bel Mare ( free sunbeds and umbrellas, cool place to gaze the sea). The beach of Dafni belongs also in the National Marine Park because the turtles Caretta - Careta lay here their eggs, therefore it is protected and peaceful (no water sports).
Try Mela's Tavern, the food and service is great ( a family business) ! The starters include the exceptional freshly made traditional bread, the food is well cooked and grilled, people are smily.
